GRINNELL, Iowa - The 2019 running of the event was marred once again by construction on Mac field. The construction fencing caused the course to be diverted around the fencing used to block students from accessing the campus. Undaunted, eight competitors still toed the line on a gloomy, chilly Sunday morning. The O'Reilly family, including family patriarch Greg as well as Sean '19, Declan '21, and Patrick (listed in the results as 'Brother O'Reilly') made up half the field. The O'Reilly's were joined by John Lennon '19 and Kamal Nadesan '19, both graduating that weekend. Uniquely, Hans Peter of Germany as well as Jennifer of the United States, both parents of graduating students not present, showed up gamely ready to race.
